The Girls & Boys Brigade (formerly The Boys’ Brigade), situated in Riley Street Surry Hills, Sydney was established in 1882. The organisation has a long history as a charity that supports and services the diverse needs of children and youth in inner city communities.We provide recreation, education and development programs during after school hours, in the evenings, on weekends and during school holidays, either at the Surry Hills Centre or outdoors through the provision of excursions and camps.
We strive to ensure that children and youth living in complex and difficult family circumstances are given opportunities for appropriate support, development and stability in their lives. The work undertaken is preventative in nature and recognises that early intervention and nurturing can help children and youth become productive and fulfilled community members.
